With new video technology such as Skype and recorded video interviewing exploding onto the HR scene, many recruitment specialists are scrambling to understand how and when to use video in recruitment programs. Video (and especially web video) is providing new opportunities for recruitment specialists to define their client's recruitment brand. From videos on an organisation’s culture, through to talking head interviews with senior management, existing graduate recruits and other hires, video is allowing recruitment specialists to improve the effectiveness of recruitment programs while also reducing costs.
Video is a great way to be able to relate, engage, and tell a story about a company culture and environment going beyond your standard careers page. On average, organisations receive a 34% greater candidate application rate when they add video to their job postings. More organisations are using video interviews with existing graduate recruits to attract new graduates. Organisations are also using ‘talking head’ videos with CEOs and other key management as introductions to online interviewing and on boarding.
